Sonnet. About Jesus. Ii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCCD

There Buonarotti stands thy statue TakeA
Possession of the form inherit itB
Go forth upon the earth in likeness fitB
As with a trumpet cry at morning wakeA
The sleeping nations with light's terror shakeA
The slumber from their hearts and where they sitB
Let them leap up aghast as at a pitB
Agape beneath I hear him answer makeA
Alas I dare not I could not informC
That image I revered as I did traceD
I will not dim the glory of its graceD
Nor with a feeble spirit mock the enormC
Strength on its brow Thou cam'st God's thought thy formC
Living the large significance of thy faceD
