Song Of The Innocents Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEE

Merry merry we well may beA
For Jesus Christ is come down to seeA
Long before at the top of the stairB
He set our angels a waiting thereB
Waiting hither and thither to flyC
Tending the children of the skyC
Lest they dash little feet against big stonesD
And tumble down and break little bonesD
For the path is rough and we must not roamE
We have learned to walk and must follow him homeE
