Rejoice Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFB GGDD HHBB AAII HHBB

Rejoice said the Sun I will make thee gayA
With glory and gladness and holidayA
I am dumb O man and I need thy voiceB
But man would not rejoiceB
-
Rejoice in thyself said he O SunC
For thy daily course is a lordly oneC
In thy lofty place rejoice if thou canD
For me I am only a manD
-
Rejoice said the Wind I am free and strongE
And will wake in thy heart an ancient songE
Hear the roaring woods my organ noiseF
But man would not rejoiceB
-
Rejoice O Wind in thy strength said heG
For thou fulfillest thy destinyG
Shake the forest the faint flowers fanD
For me I am only a manD
-
Rejoice said the Night with moon and starH
For the Sun and the Wind are gone afarH
I am here with rest and dreaming choiceB
But man would not rejoiceB
-
For he said What is rest to me I prayA
Whose labour leads to no gladsome dayA
He only can dream who has hope behindI
Alas for me and my kindI
-
Then a voice that came not from moon or starH
From the sun or the wind that roved afarH
Said Man I am with thee hear my voiceB
And man said I rejoiceB
