IA
-
A pale green sky is gleamingB
The steely stars are fewC
The moorland pond is steamingB
A mist of gray and blueC
-
Along the pathway lonelyD
My horse is walking slowE
Three living creatures onlyD
He I and a home bound crowE
-
The moon is hardly shapingB
Her circle in the fogF
A dumb stream is escapingB
Its prison in the bogF
-
But in my heart are ringingB
Tones of a lofty songG
A voice that I know is singingB
And my heart all night must longG
-
IIA
-
Over a shining landH
Once such a land I knewC
Over its sea by a soft wind fannedH
The sky is all white and blueC
-
The waves are kissing the shoresI
Murmuring love and for everJ
A boat gleams green and its timeful oarsI
Flash out of the level riverJ
-
Oh to be there with theeD
And the sun on wet sands my loveK
With the shining river the sparkling seaD
And the radiant sky aboveK
-
IIIA
-
The autumn winds are sighingB
Over land and seaD
The autumn woods are dyingB
Over hill and leaD
And my heart is sighing dyingB
Maiden for theeD
-
The autumn clouds are flyingB
Homeless over meD
The nestless birds are cryingB
In the naked treeD
And my heart is flying cryingB
Maiden to theeD
-
The autumn sea is crawlingB
Up the chilly shoreL
The thin voiced firs are callingB
Ghostily evermoreL
Maiden maiden I am fallingB
Dead at thy doorL
-
IVK
-
The waters are rising and flowingB
Over the weedy stoneM
Over it over it goingB
It is never goneN
-
Waves upon waves of weepingB
Went over the ancient painO
Glad waves go over it leapingB
Still it rises againP
