Hymn For A Sick Girl Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIHI JKJK LMLM

Father in the dark I layA
Thirsting for the lightB
Helpless but for hope alwayC
In thy father mightB
-
Out of darkness came the mornD
Out of death came lifeE
I and faith and hope new bornD
Out of moaning strifeE
-
So one morning yet more fairF
I shall joyous braveG
Sudden breathing loftier airF
Triumph o'er the graveG
-
Though this feeble body lieH
Underneath the groundI
Wide awake not sleeping IH
Shall in him be foundI
-
But a morn yet fairer mustJ
Quell this inner gloomK
Resurrection from the dustJ
Of a deeper tombK
-
Father wake thy little childL
Give me bread and wineM
Till my spirit undefiledL
Rise and live in thineM
