Fighting Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CBCB DCDC EFEF GHGD IBIB CJCJ

Here is a temple strangely wroughtA
Within it I can seeB
Two spirits of a diverse thoughtA
Contend for masteryB
-
One is an angel fair and brightC
Adown the aisle comes heB
Adown the aisle in raiment whiteC
A creature fair to seeB
-
The other wears an evil mienD
And he hath doubtless sliptC
A fearful being dark and leanD
Up from the mouldy cryptC
-
-
-
Is that the roof that grows so blackE
Did some one call my nameF
Was it the bursting thunder crackE
That filled this place with flameF
-
I move I wake from out my sleepG
Some one hath victor beenH
I see two radiant pinions sweepG
And I am borne betweenD
-
Beneath the clouds that under rollI
An upturned face I seeB
A dead man's face but ah the soulI
Was right well known to meB
-
A man's dead face Away I hasteC
Through regions calm and fairJ
Go vanquish sin and thou shall tasteC
The same celestial airJ
