Dr. Doddridge's Dog Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A ABAB ACAC DEDE FGFG HIHI AJAJ DKDK

What you Dr Doddridge's dog and not know who made youA
-
My little dog who blessed youA
With such white toothy pegsB
And who was it that dressed youA
In such a lot of legsB
-
Perhaps he never told youA
Perhaps you know quite wellC
And beg me not to scold youA
For you can't speak to tellC
-
I'll tell you little brotherD
In case you do not knowE
One only not anotherD
Could make us two just soE
-
You love me Quiet I'm provingF
It must be God aboveG
That filled those eyes with lovingF
He was the first to loveG
-
One day he'll stop all sadnessH
Hark to the nightingaleI
Oh blessed God of gladnessH
Come doggie wag your tailI
-
That's Thank you God He gave youA
Of life this little tasteJ
And with more life he'll save youA
Not let you go to wasteJ
-
He says now Live togetherD
And share your bite and supK
And then he'll say Come hitherD
And lift us both high upK
