De Profundis Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD CECE BFBF GHIH JKJK

When I am dead unto myself and letA
O Father thee live on in meB
Contented to do nought but pay my debtA
And leave the house to theeB
-
Then shall I be thy ransomed from the carkC
Of living from the strain for breathD
From tossing in my coffin strait and darkC
At hourly strife with deathD
-
Have mercy in my coffin and awakeC
A buried temple of the LordE
Grow Temple grow Heart from thy cerements breakC
Stream out O living SwordE
-
When I am with thee as thou art with meB
Life will be self forgetting powerF
Love ever conscious buoyant clear and freeB
Will flame in darkest hourF
-
Where now I sit alone unmoving calmG
With windows open to thy windH
Shall I not know thee in the radiant psalmI
Soaring from heart and mindH
-
The body of this death will melt awayJ
And I shall know as I am knownK
Know thee my father every hour and dayJ
As thou know'st me thine ownK
