Blind Bartimeus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFGH IIJFGJ IICBBC

As Jesus went into Jericho townA
Twas darkness all from toe to crownA
About blind BartimeusB
He said My eyes are more than dimC
They are no use for seeing himC
No matter he can see usB
-
Cry out cry out blind brother cryD
Let not salvation dear go byD
Have mercy Son of DavidE
Though they were blind they both could hearF
They heard and cried and he drew nearG
And so the blind were savedH
-
O Jesus Christ I am very blindI
Nothing comes through into my mindI
'Tis well I am not dumbJ
Although I see thee not nor hearF
I cry because thou may'st be nearG
O son of Mary comeJ
-
I hear it through the all things blindI
Is it thy voice so gentle and kindI
Poor eyes no more be dimC
A hand is laid upon mine eyesB
I hear and hearken see and riseB
'Tis He I follow himC
