Bedtime Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHCC

Come children put away your toysA
Roll up that kite's long lineB
The day is done for girls and boysA
Look it is almost nineB
Come weary foot and sleepy headC
Get up and come along to bedC
-
The children loath must yet obeyD
Up the long stair they creepE
Lie down and something sing or sayD
Until they fall asleepE
To steal through caverns of the nightF
Into the morning's golden lightF
-
We elder ones sit up more lateG
And tasks unfinished plyH
But gently busy watch and waitG
Dear sister you and IH
To hear the Father with soft treadC
Coming to carry us to bedC
