Appeal Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGFG

If in my arms I bore my childA
Would he cry out for fearB
Because the night was dark and wildA
And no one else was nearB
-
Shall I then treat thee Father asC
My fatherhood would grieveD
I will be hopeful though alasE
I cannot quite believeD
-
I had no power no wish to beF
Thou madest me half blindG
The darkness comes I cling to theeF
Be thou my perfect mindG
