So still you may watch them and see | C |

With its handful of mouldering bone | F |
As still as the long stalk of wheat | E |
In the shadow that sits by the stone | F |
As still as the grass at my feet | E |
When I walk in the meadows alone | F |

And the ships are asleep on the wave | H |
And the thoughts are as still in my brain | G |
As the echo that sleeps in the cave | H |
All rest from their labour and pain | G |
