A Dream Song Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEEDFFGGDDHHII JJ

I dreamed of a song I heard it sungA
In the ear of my soul its strange notes rungA
What were its words I could not tellB
Only the voice I heard right wellB
For its tones unearthly my spirit boundC
In a calm delirium of mystic soundC
Held me floating alone and highD
Placeless and silent drinking my fillE
Of dews that from cloudless skies distilE
On desert places that thirst and sighD
'Twas a woman's voice deep calling to deepF
Rousing old echoes that all day sleepF
In cavern and solitude each apartG
Here and there in the waiting heartG
A voice with a wild melodious cryD
Reaching and longing afar and highD
Sorrowful triumph and hopeful strifeH
Gainful death and new born lifeH
Thrilled in each note of the prophet songI
In my heart it said O Lord how longI
Shall we groan and travail and faint and prayJ
Ere thy lovely kingdom bring the dayJ
