Their country conquers with their martyrdom | D |
And Freedom's fame finds wings on every wind | A |
Chillon thy prison is a holy place | E |
And thy sad floor an altar for 'twas trod | F |
Until his very steps have left a trace | E |
Worn as if thy cold pavement were a sod | F |
