Grodek Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQ

At evening the autumn woodlands ringA
With deadly weapons Over the golden plainsB
And lakes of blue the sunC
More darkly rolls The night surroundsD
Warriors dying and the wild lamentE
Of their fragmented mouthsF
Yet silently there gather in the willow combeG
Red clouds inhabited by an angry godH
Shed blood and the chill of the moonI
All roads lead to black decayJ
Under golden branching of the night and starsK
A sister's shadow sways through the still groveL
To greet the heroes' spirits the bloodied headsM
And softly in the reeds Autumn's dark flutes resoundN
O prouder mourning You brazen altarsO
The spirit's hot flame is fed now by a tremendous painP
The grandsons unbornQ
