Rhyme Scheme: A B C D E F G C H I C F J KSo ghostly are these late days | A |
- | |
Just like the look of sick people sent here | B |
- | |
In the light However the night shades the muted lament | C |
- | |
Of their eyes toward which they already turn | D |
- | |
They probably smile and recall their celebrations | E |
- | |
How one is moved after songs half forgotten | F |
- | |
And searches words for a sad gesture | G |
- | |
Which already grows pale in silence unmeasured | C |
- | |
So the sun still plays around ill flowers | H |
- | |
And lets them shiver in the thin clear airs | I |
- | |
With a death cool delight | C |
- | |
The red forests whisper and darken | F |
- | |
And more death nightly the woodpeckers' hammering echoes | J |
- | |
Just like a reverberation from airless crypts | K |
