De Profundis Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJK CLM NOP QRRS T

There is a stubble field on which a black rain fallsA
There is a tree which brown stands lonely hereB
There is a hissing wind which haunts deserted hutsC
How sad this eveningD
-
Past the village pondE
The gentle orphan still gathers scanty ears of cornF
Golden and round her eyes are gazing in the duskG
And her lap awaits the heavenly bridegroomH
-
Returning homeI
Shepherds found the sweet bodyJ
Decayed in the bramble bushK
-
A shade I am remote from sombre hamletsC
The silence of GodL
I drank from the woodland wellM
-
On my forehead cold metal formsN
Spiders look for my heartO
There is a light that fails in my mouthP
-
At night I found myself upon a heathQ
Thick with garbage and the dust of starsR
In the hazel copseR
Crystal angels have sounded once moreS
