Rhyme Scheme: A B C A D E F G E A A C

A fool wrote three signs in the sandA
-
A pale maiden stood there before himB
-
Loudly the sea sang o it sangC
-
She held a cup in the handA
-
Which gleamed up to the edgeD
-
Like blood so red and heavyE
-
No word was spoken the sun faded awayF
-
Then the fool took the cupG
-
Out of her hand and drank it emptyE
-
Then its light extinguished in her handA
-
The wind blew away the three signs in the sandA
-
Loudly the sea sang o it sangC
