In Memory Of Jane Fraser Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG HIJI

When snow like sheep lay in the foldA
And wind went begging at each doorB
And the far hills were blue with coldA
And a cloud shroud lay on the moorC
-
She kept the siege And every dayD
We watched her brooding over deathE
Like a strong bird above its preyD
The room filled with the kettle's breathE
-
Damp curtains glued against the paneF
Sealed time away Her body frozeG
As if to freeze us all and chainF
Creation to a stunned reposeG
-
She died before the world could stirH
In March the ice unloosed the brookI
And water ruffled the sun's hairJ
Dead cones upon the alder shookI
