To The Harbormaster Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHAIJKLDHMA

I wanted to be sure to reach youA
though my ship was on the way it got caughtB
in some moorings I am always tying upC
and then deciding to depart In storms andD
at sunset with the metallic coils of the tideE
around my fathomless arms I am unableF
to understand the forms of my vanityG
or I am hard alee with my Polish rudderH
in my hand and the sun sinking ToA
you I offer my hull and the tattered cordageI
of my will The terrible channels whereJ
the wind drives me against the brown lipsK
of the reeds are not all behind me YetL
I trust the sanity of my vessel andD
if it sinks it may well be in answerH
to the reasoning of the eternal voicesM
the waves which have kept me from reaching youA
