Personal Poem Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGH CIJKELMNOPQRSCTUVWXP YZA2MB2B2

Now when I walk around at lunchtimeA
I have only two charms in my pocketB
an old Roman coin Mike Kanemitsu gave meC
and a bolt head that broke off a packing caseD
when I was in Madrid the others neverE
brought me too much luck though they didF
help keep me in New York against coercionG
but now I'm happy for a time and interestedH
-
I walk through the luminous humidityC
passing the House of Seagram with its wetI
and its loungers and the construction toJ
the left that closed the sidewalk ifK
I ever get to be a construction workerE
I'd like to have a silver hat pleaseL
and get to Moriarty's where I wait forM
LeRoi and hear who wants to be a mover andN
shaker the last five years my batting averageO
is that's that and LeRoi comes inP
and tells me Miles Davis was clubbedQ
times last night outside BIRDLAND by a copR
a lady asks us for a nickel for a terribleS
disease but we don't give her one weC
don't like terrible diseases thenT
we go eat some fish and some ale it'sU
cool but crowded we don't like Lionel TrillingV
we decide we like Don Allen we don't likeW
Henry James so much we like Herman MelvilleX
we don't want to be in the poets' walk inP
San Francisco even we just want to be richY
and walk on girders in our silver hatsZ
I wonder if one person out of the isA2
thinking of me as I shake hands with LeRoiM
and buy a strap for my wristwatch and goB2
back to work happy at the thought possibly soB2
