Where Art Thou Come? Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABCABDEFGHIAHCC

'Friend whereto art thou come ' Thus VerityA
Of each that to the world's sad OlivetA
Comes with no multitude but alone by nightA
Lit with the one torch of his lifted soulB
Seeking her that he may lay hands on herC
Thus and waits answer from the mouth of deedA
Truth is a maid whom men woo diverselyB
This as a spouse that as a light o' loveD
To know and having known to make his bragE
But woe to him that takes the immortal kissF
And not estates her in his housing lifeG
Mother of all his seed So he betraysH
Not Truth the unbetrayable but himselfI
And with his kiss's rated traitor craftA
The Haceldama of a plot of daysH
He buys to consummate his JudasryC
Therein with Judas' guerdon of despairC
