Hermes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDFGAGABB

Soothsay Behold with rod twy serpentedA
Hermes the prophet twining in one powerB
The woman with the man Upon his headA
The cloudy cap wherewith he hath in dowerC
The cloud's own virtue change and counterchangeD
To show in light and to withdraw in pallE
As mortal eyes best bear His lineage strangeD
From Zeus Truth's sire and maiden May the allF
Illusive Nature His fledged feet declareG
That 'tis the nether self transdeifiedA
And the thrice furnaced passions which do bearG
The poet Olympusward In him alliedA
Both parents clasp and from the womb of NatureB
Stern Truth takes flesh in shows of lovely featureB
