Fatoki, Oluwatobi O. Reality Poems
- 1. Home
The Yorubas do say; Ile la n ti ko eso rode
You cannot no matter how clever cheat on nature
As what comes from you and I has its roots traced to our nurture
From home do our sojourn start and ends on how good we rebirth ourselves day by day.
... - 2. Oku - The Dead.
When life is cut off, we say they have faithfully departed
What else could have been said, leaving this hellish earth to an unknown source
Though they do say the devil one knows is better than an unknown angel
Fallacy upon fallacy, the soul is far gone and rented.
... - 3. A Thin Line.
Just as the gallantry of ‘Araba’ is made a disgrace to ‘Iroko’ of a truth
So shall I avenge my death and sufferings on their fruits down to their roots
They cared for me like a chicken, but the next day; they slaughtered me like a fowl
My blood! My blood!! When would thou cry for vengeance in fulfillment of my vow?
