Love was once a natural inclination
For something
Lately this innate urge has been sent
To the grave of lusts
Now it is motivated by greed
Material things
Social status
Social background
Influential capacity
Religion
Since the inception of these negative
Motivations
True love has been weeping
And gnashing her teeths
Disappointments mocks at her
Relationships fail
Marriages break
Homes disintegrate
Oh! who brought politics into this
Garden of life?

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke : This poem is timely. "The Ugly Politics of Love" really mirrors the fate man finds himself in the dungeon of love. In the stone Age love was naturally a blissful moment with family, friends and loved ones without any selfish influence and interest attached. But today our society is mad and drunk with strings attached to love. Love among family, friends and lovers are politically attached to materialism and avarice for wealth.
The Poet Persona is gifted with words. His dexterity is glued to wits and wisdom. More grace great Poet.
