Wynken Blynken and Nod one nightA
Sailed off in a wooden shoeB
Sailed on a river of crystal lightA
Into a sea of dewB
Where are you going and what do you wishC
The old moon asked the threeD
We have come to fish for the herring fishC
That live in this beautiful seaD
Nets of silver and gold have weD
Said WynkenE
BlynkenE
And NodF
-
The old moon laughed and sang a songG
As they rocked in the wooden shoeB
And the wind that sped them all night longG
Ruffled the waves of dewB
The little stars were the herring fishC
That lived in the beautiful seaD
Now cast your nets wherever you wishC
Never afraid are weD
So cried the stars to the fishermen threeD
WynkenE
BlynkenE
And NodF
-
All night long their nets they threwB
To the stars in the twinkling foamH
Then down from the skies came the wooden shoeB
Bringing the fishermen homeH
'Twas all so pretty a sail it seemedI
As if it could not beD
And some folk thought 'twas a dream they'd dreamedI
Of sailing that beautiful seaD
But I shall name you the fishermen threeD
WynkenE
BlynkenE
And NodF
-
Wynken and Blynken are two little eyesJ
And Nod is a little headK
And the wooden shoe that sailed the skiesJ
Is a wee one's trundle bedK
So shut your eyes while Mother singsL
Of wonderful sights that beD
And you shall see the beautiful thingsL
As you rock in the misty seaD
Where the old shoe rocked the fishermen threeD
WynkenE
BlynkenE
And NodF
