Rhyme Scheme: AABCCBDDEFFE GGEHHEIIJKKJ LLKMMKKKNOON

Ovarus mineA
Plant thou the vineA
Within this kindly soil of TiburB
Nor temporal woesC
Nor spiritual knowsC
The man who's a discreet imbiberB
For who doth croakD
Of being brokeD
Or who of warfare after drinkingE
With bowl atween usF
Of smiling VenusF
And Bacchus shall we sing I'm thinkingE
-
Of symptoms fellG
Which brawls impelG
Historic data give us warningE
The wretch who fightsH
When full of nightsH
Is bound to have a head next morningE
I do not scornI
A friendly hornI
But noisy toots I can't abide 'emJ
Your howling batK
Is stale and flatK
To one who knows because he's tried 'emJ
-
The secrets ofL
The life I loveL
Companionship with girls and toddyK
I would not dragM
With drunken bragM
Into the ken of everybodyK
But in the shadeK
Let some coy maidK
With smilax wreathe my flagon's nozzleN
Then all day longO
With mirth and songO
Shall I enjoy a quiet sozzleN
