When I Was A Boy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Up in the attic where I sleptA
When I was a boy a little boyB
In through the lattice the moonlight creptA
Bringing a tide of dreams that sweptA
Over the low red trundle bedC
Bathing the tangled curly headC
While moonbeams played at hide and seekD
With the dimples on the sun browned cheekD
When I was a boy a little boyB
-
And oh the dreams the dreams I dreamedE
When I was a boy a little boyB
For the grace that through the lattice streamedE
Over my folded eyelids seemedE
To have the gift of prophecyF
And to bring me glimpses of times to beF
When manhood's clarion seemed to callG
Ah that was the sweetest dream of allG
When I was a boy a little boyB
-
I'd like to sleep where I used to sleepH
When I was a boy a little boyB
For in at the lattice the moon would peepH
Bringing her tide of dreams to sweepH
The crosses and griefs of the years awayI
From the heart that is weary and faint to dayI
And those dreams should give me back againJ
A peace I have never known since thenJ
When I was a boy a little boyB
