To Lydia Ii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHIH JKJK

When praising Telephus you singA
His rosy neck and waxen armsB
Forgetful of the pangs that wringA
This heart for my neglected charmsB
-
Soft down my cheek the tear drop flowsC
My color comes and goes the whileD
And my rebellious liver glowsC
And fiercely swells with laboring bileD
-
Perchance yon silly passionate youthE
Distempered by the fumes of wineF
Has marred your shoulder with his toothE
Or scarred those rosy lips of thineF
-
Be warned he cannot faithful proveG
Who with the cruel kiss you prizeH
Has hurt the little mouth I loveI
Where Venus's own nectar liesH
-
Whom golden links unbroken bindJ
Thrice happy more than thrice are theyK
And constant both in heart and mindJ
In love await the final dayK
