To Glycera Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD ADAD EFEF

The cruel mother of the LovesA
And other Powers offendedB
Have stirred my heart where newly rovesA
The passion that was endedB
-
'T is Glycera to boldness proneC
Whose radiant beauty fires meD
While fairer than the Parian stoneC
Her dazzling face inspires meD
-
And on from Cyprus Venus speedsA
Forbidding ah the pityD
The Scythian lays the Parthian meedsA
And such irrelevant dittyD
-
Here boys bring turf and vervain tooE
Have bowls of wine adjacentF
And ere our sacrifice is throughE
She may be more complaisantF
