To Emma Abbott Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGGHIJJH KLMMNLOOHJPPH

There let thy hands be foldedA
Awhile in sleep's reposeB
The patient hands that wearied notC
But earnestly and nobly wroughtD
In charity and faithE
And let thy dear eyes closeF
The eyes that looked alway to GodG
Nor quailed beneath the chastening rodG
Of sorrowH
Fold thou thy hands and eyesI
For just a little whileJ
And with a smileJ
Dream of the morrowH
-
And O white voiceless flowerK
The dream which thou shalt dreamL
Should be a glimpse of heavenly thingsM
For yonder like a seraph singsM
The sweetness of a lifeN
With faith alway its themeL
While speedeth from those realms aboveO
The messenger of that dear loveO
That healeth sorrowH
So sleep a little whileJ
For thou shalt wake and singP
Before thy KingP
When cometh the morrowH
