To A Usurper Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IHIH JEJE KIKI LMLM

Aha a traitor in the campA
A rebel strangely boldB
A lisping laughing toddling scampA
Not more than four years oldB
-
To think that I who've ruled aloneC
So proudly in the pastD
Should be ejected from my throneC
By my own son at lastD
-
He trots his treason to and froE
As only babies canF
And says he'll be his mamma's beauE
When he's a gweat big manF
-
You stingy boy you've always hadG
A share in mamma's heartH
Would you begrudge your poor old dadG
The tiniest little partH
-
That mamma I regret to seeI
Inclines to take your partH
As if a dual monarchyI
Should rule her gentle heartH
-
But when the years of youth have spedJ
The bearded man I trowE
Will quite forget he ever saidJ
He'd be his mamma's beauE
-
Renounce your treason little sonK
Leave mamma's heart to meI
For there will come another oneK
To claim your loyaltyI
-
And when that other comes to youL
God grant her love may shineM
Through all your life as fair and trueL
As mamma's does through mineM
