Rhyme Scheme: AABABCBC DEFEGABA DHIHJKLK BMNMOCBC

Last night the Stork came stalkingA
And Stork beneath your wingA
Lay lapped in dreamless slumberB
The tiniest little thingA
From Babyland out yonderB
Beside a silver seaC
You brought a priceless treasureB
As gift to mine and meC
-
Last night my dear one listenedD
And wife you knew the cryE
The dear old Stork has sought our homeF
A many times gone byE
And in your gentle bosomG
I found the pretty thingA
That from the realm out yonderB
Our friend the Stork did bringA
-
Last night a babe awakenedD
And babe how strange and newH
Must seem the home and peopleI
The Stork has brought you toH
And yet methinks you like themJ
You neither stare nor weepK
But closer to my dear oneL
You cuddle and you sleepK
-
Last night my heart grew fonderB
happy heart of mineM
Sing of the inspirationsN
That round my pathway shineM
And sing your sweetest love songO
To this dear nestling weeC
The Stork from 'Way Out YonderB
Hath brought to mine and meC
