The Little Peach Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAA AAAA AAAA AAAA AAAA AAAA

A little peach in the orchard grewA
A little peach of emerald hueA
Warmed by the sun and wet by the dewA
It grewA
-
One day passing that orchard throughA
That little peach dawned on the viewA
Of Johnny Jones and his sister SueA
Them twoA
-
Up at that peach a club they threwA
Down from the stem on which it grewA
Fell that peach of emerald hueA
Mon DieuA
-
John took a bite and Sue a chewA
And then the trouble began to brewA
Trouble the doctor couldn't subdueA
Too trueA
-
Under the turf where the daisies grewA
They planted John and his sister SueA
And their little souls to the angels flewA
Boo hooA
-
What of that peach of the emerald hueA
Warmed by the sun and wet by the dewA
Ah well its mission on earth is throughA
AdieuA

Hellie: I love it. My grandmother copied the whole thing, back in 1900
