The Divine Lullaby Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBBC ADEDDE AFGFFG AHCIHC

I hear Thy voice dear LordA
I hear it by the stormy seaB
When winter nights are black and wildC
And when affright I call to TheeB
It calms my fears and whispers meB
Sleep well my childC
-
I hear Thy voice dear LordA
In singing winds in falling snowD
The curfew chimes the midnight bellE
Sleep well my child it murmurs lowD
The guardian angels come and goD
O child sleep wellE
-
I hear Thy voice dear LordA
Ay though the singing winds be stilledF
Though hushed the tumult of the deepG
My fainting heart with anguish chilledF
By Thy assuring tone is thrilledF
Fear not and sleepG
-
Speak on speak on dear LordA
And when the last dread night is nearH
With doubts and fears and terrors wildC
Oh let my soul expiring hearI
Only these words of heavenly cheerH
Sleep well my childC
