Mother And Child Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD CCCC

One night a tiny dewdrop fellA
Into the bosom of a roseB
Dear little one I love thee wellA
Be ever here thy sweet reposeB
-
Seeing the rose with love bedightC
The envious sky frowned dark and thenD
Sent forth a messenger of lightC
And caught the dewdrop up againD
-
Oh give me back my heavenly childC
My love the rose in anguish criedC
Alas the sky triumphant smiledC
And so the flower heart broken diedC
