Lollyby, Lolly, Lollyby Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABAAB AABAAB AA AA AABAAB

Last night whiles that the curfew bell ben ringingA
I heard a moder to her dearie singingA
Lollyby lolly lollybyB
And presently that chylde did cease hys weepingA
And on his moder's breast did fall a sleepingA
To lolly lolly lollybyB
-
Faire ben the chylde unto his moder clingingA
But fairer yet the moder's gentle singingA
Lollyby lolly lollybyB
And angels came and kisst the dearie smilingA
In dreems while him hys moder ben beguilingA
With lolly lolly lollybyB
-
Then to my harte saies I Oh that thy beatingA
Colde be assuaged by some swete voice repeatingA
'Lollyby lolly lollyby '-
That like this lyttel chylde I too ben sleepingA
With plaisaunt phantasies about me creepingA
To 'lolly lolly lollyby '-
-
Sometime mayhap when curfew bells are ringingA
A weary harte shall heare straunge voices singingA
Lollyby lolly lollybyB
Sometime mayhap with Chrysts love round me streamingA
I shall be lulled into eternal dreemingA
With lolly lolly lollybyB
