Little Miss Brag Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEE AAFGHHIIEE JJKKLLMMEE AANNOOPPEE

Little Miss Brag has much to sayA
To the rich little lady from over the wayA
And the rich little lady puts out a lipB
As she looks at her own white dainty slipB
And wishes that she could wear a gownC
As pretty as gingham of faded brownC
For little Miss Brag she lays much stressD
On the privileges of a gingham dressD

-
The rich little lady from over the wayA
Has beautiful dolls in vast arrayA
Yet she envies the raggedy home made dollF
She hears our little Miss Brag extolG
For the raggedy doll can fear no hurtH
From wet or heat or tumble or dirtH
Her nose is inked and her mouth is tooI
And one eye's black and the other's blueI

-
The rich little lady goes out to rideJ
With footmen standing up outsideJ
Yet wishes that sometimes after darkK
Her father would trundle her in the parkK
That sometimes her mother would sing the thingsL
Little Miss Brag says her mother singsL
When through the attic window streamsM
The moonlight full of golden dreamsM

-
Yes little Miss Brag has much to sayA
To the rich little lady from over the wayA
And yet who knows but from her heartN
Often the bitter sighs upstartN
Uprise to lose their burn and stingO
In the grace of the tongue that loves to singO
Praise of the treasures all its ownP
So I've come to love that treble toneP
AhaE
OhoE
