Hymn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCC DDEE CCFF GGHH

FROM THE GERMAN OF MARTIN LUTHERA
-
O heart of mine lift up thine eyesB
And see who in yon manger liesB
Of perfect form of face divineC
It is the Christ child heart of mineC
-
O dearest holiest Christ child spreadD
Within this heart of mine thy bedD
Then shall my breast forever beE
A chamber consecrate to theeE
-
Beat high to day O heart of mineC
And tell O lips what joys are thineC
For with your help shall I prolongF
Old Bethlehem's sweetest cradle songF
-
Glory to God whom this dear ChildG
Hath by His coming reconciledG
And whose redeeming love againH
Brings peace on earth good will to menH
