Horatian Lyrics Odes I, 11. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDECCE

What end the gods may have ordained for meA
And what for theeA
Seek not to learn Leuconoe we may not knowB
Chaldean tables cannot bring us restC
'Tis for the bestC
To bear in patience what may come or weal or woeB
-
If for more winters our poor lot is castD
Or this the lastD
Which on the crumbling rocks has dashed Etruscan seasE
Strain clear the wine this life is short at bestC
Take hope with zestC
And trusting not To Morrow snatch To Day for easeE
