Ganderfeather's Gift Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCAABBBBB BDEEFBDGGD HBBBHHBIIBB ABBBAABFFBB

I was just a little thingA
When a fairy came and kissed meB
Floating in upon the lightC
Of a haunted summer nightC
Lo the fairies came to singA
Pretty slumber songs and bringA
Certain boons that else had missed meB
From a dream I turned to seeB
What those strangers brought for meB
When that fairy up and kissed meB
Here upon this cheek he kissed meB
-
Simmerdew was there but sheB
Did not like me altogetherD
Daisybright and TurtledoveE
Pilfercurds and HoneyloveE
Thistleblow and AmbergleeF
On that gleaming ghostly seaB
Floated from the misty heatherD
And around my trundle bedG
Frisked and looked and whispering saidG
Solemnlike and all togetherD
'You shall kiss him Ganderfeather '-
-
Ganderfeather kissed me thenH
Ganderfeather quaint and merryB
No attenuate sprite was heB
But as buxom as could beB
Kissed me twice and once againH
And the others shouted whenH
On my cheek uprose a berryB
Somewhat like a mole mayhapI
But the kiss mark of that chapI
Ganderfeather passing merryB
Humorsome but kindly veryB
-
I was just a tiny thingA
When the prankish GanderfeatherB
Brought this curious gift to meB
With his fairy kisses threeB
Yet with honest pride I singA
That same gift he chose to bringA
Out of yonder haunted heatherB
Other charms and friendships flyF
Constant friends this mole and IF
Who have been so long togetherB
Thank you little GanderfeatherB
