Fiddle-dee-dee Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBAA CCDDAA DDEEAA AAFFAA DDGHIAA

There once was a bird that lived up in a treeA
And all he could whistle was Fiddle dee deeA
A very provoking unmusical songB
For one to be whistling the summer day longB
Yet always contented and busy was heA
With that vocal recurrence of Fiddle dee deeA
-
Hard by lived a brave little soldier of fourC
That weird iteration repented him soreC
I prithee Dear Mother Mine fetch me my gunD
For by our St Didy the deed must be doneD
That shall presently rid all creation and meA
Of that ominous bird and his 'Fiddle dee dee'A
-
Then out came Dear Mother Mine bringing her sonD
His awfully truculent little red gunD
The stock was of pine and the barrel of tinE
The bang it came out where the bullet went inE
The right kind of weapon I think you'll agreeA
For slaying all fowl that go Fiddle dee deeA
-
The brave little soldier quoth never a wordA
But he up and he drew a straight bead on that birdA
And while that vain creature provokingly sangF
The gun it went off with a terrible bangF
Then loud laughed the youth By my Bottle cried heA
I've put a quietus on 'Fiddle dee dee'A
-
Out came then Dear Mother Mine saying My sonD
Right well have you wrought with your little red gunD
Hereafter no evil at all need I fearG
With such a brave soldier as You My Love hereH
She kissed the dear boyI
The bird in the treeA
Continued to whistle his Fiddle dee deeA
