God rest you Chrysten gentil menA
Wherever you may beB
God rest you all in fielde or hallC
Or on ye stormy seaB
For on this morn oure Chryst is bornD
That saveth you and meB
-
Last night ye shepherds in ye eastE
Saw many a wondrous thingF
Ye sky last night flamed passing brightG
Whiles that ye stars did singF
And angels came to bless ye nameH
Of Jesus Chryst oure KyngF
-
God rest you Chrysten gentil menA
Faring where'er you mayI
In noblesse court do thou no sportJ
In tournament no playeK
In paynim lands hold thou thy handsL
From bloudy works this dayeK
-
But thinking on ye gentil LordM
That died upon ye treeB
Let troublings cease and deeds of peaceN
Abound in ChrystantieM
For on this morn ye Chryst is bornD
That saveth you and meB
