But lo he toddling comes to lure | A |
My parent ear with timorous knock | B |

Regardless of its tempting charms | G |

My laughing darling in my arms | G |

Who knows but in Eternity | D |
I like a truant child shall wait | H |
The glories of a life to be | D |
Beyond the Heavenly Father's gate | H |

And will that Heavenly Father heed | I |
The truant's supplicating cry | J |
As at the outer door I plead | I |
