Rhyme Scheme: AABC BDDEECCFFGGEEHH

Young Lochinvar came in from the WestA
With fringe on his trousers and fur on his vestA
The width of his hat brim could nowhere be beatB
His NoC
-
brogans were chuck full of feetB
His girdle was horrent with pistols and thingsD
And he flourished a handful of aces on kingsD
The fair Mariana sate watching a starE
When who should turn up but the young LochinvarE
Her pulchritude gave him a pectoral glowC
And he reined up his hoss with stentorian WhoaC
Then turned on the maiden a rapturous grinF
And modestly asked if he might n't step inF
With presence of mind that was marvellous quiteG
The fair Mariana replied that he mightG
So in through the portal rode young LochinvarE
Pre empted the claim and cleaned out the barE
Though the justice allowed he wa'n't wholly to blameH
He taxed him ten dollars and costs just the sameH
