A Democratic Hymn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDDEDF GHGHIJIJKEDF

Republicans of differing viewsA
Are pro or con protectionB
If that's the issue they would chooseA
Why we have no objectionB
The issue we propose concernsC
Our hearts and homes more nearlyD
A wife to whom the nation turnsC
And venerates so dearlyD
So confident of what shall beD
Our gallant host advancesE
Giving three cheers for Grover CD
And three times three for FrancesF
-
So gentle is that honored dameG
And fair beyond all tellingH
The very mention of her nameG
Sets every breast to swellingH
She wears no mortal crown of goldI
No courtiers fawn around herJ
But with their love young hearts and oldI
In loyalty have crowned herJ
And so with Grover and his brideK
We're proud to take our chancesE
And it's three times three for the twain give weD
But particularly for FrancesF
