eihtbeezy: You gotta get Etheridge Knight’s essential reader. He’s a Korean War vet who got injured, came home and fighting heroin addiction. His shit really spoke to me once I got 2 community college. I like Cesaire’s Solar Throat Slashed…he’s got a very aggressive way of putting things.

BlmBoston: He wrote 'Invisible Paintings' with Ishmael Reed and 'Yardbirds II' in partnership with Joe Johnson and Ishmael Reed. Etheridge Knight (1931 - 1991) was a poet and author who had a keen interest is literary expression and style.

BlmBoston: Like Amiri Baraka, Knight's time in the military impressed upon him the realities of American life. Etheridge was seriously injured and suffered from PTSD during the Korean War. In 1950s, an addiction to pain killers would land him in prison.
