The Woman And The Wife Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBBCCB DEDFFE G GHIGGHHG JAKLLA

I THE EXPLANATIONA
-
You thought we knew she said but we were wrongB
This we can say the rest we do not sayC
Nor do I let you throw yourself awayC
Because you love me Let us both be strongB
And we shall find in sorrow before longB
Only the price Love ruled that we should payC
The dark is at the end of every dayC
And silence is the end of every songB
-
You ask me for one proof that I speak rightD
But I can answer only what I knowE
You look for just one lie to make black whiteD
But I can tell you only what is trueF
God never made me for the wife of youF
This we can say believe me Tell me soE
-
II THE ANNIVERSARYG
-
Give me the truth whatever it may beG
You thought we knew now tell me what you missH
You are the one to tell me what it isI
You are a man and you have married meG
What is it worth tonight that you can seeG
More marriage in the dream of one dead kissH
Than in a thousand years of life like thisH
Passion has turned the lock Pride keeps the keyG
-
Whatever I have said or left unsaidJ
Whatever I have done or left undoneA
Tell me Tell me the truth Are you afraidK
Do you think that Love was ever fed with liesL
But hunger lived thereafter in his eyesL
Do you ask me to take moonlight for the sunA
