Sonnet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CCDEED

Oh for a poet for a beacon brightA
To rift this changless glimmer of dead grayB
To spirit back the Muses long astrayB
And flush Parnassus with a newer lightA
To put these little sonnet men to flightA
Who fashion in a shrewd mechanic wayB
Songs without souls that flicker for a dayB
To vanish in irrevocable nightA
-
What does it mean this barren age of oursC
Here are the men the women and the flowersC
The seasons and the sunset as beforeD
What does it mean Shall there not one ariseE
To wrench one banner from the western skiesE
And mark it with his name forevermoreD
