Neighbors Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIJKLML NOPOQRSR

As often as we thought of herA
We thought of a gray lifeB
That made a quaint economistC
Of a wolf haunted wifeB
We made the best of all she boreD
That was not ours to bearE
And honored her for wearing thingsF
That were not things to wearE
-
There was a distance in her lookG
That made us look againH
And if she smiled we might believeI
That we had looked in vainJ
Rarely she came inside our doorsK
And had not long to stayL
And when she left it seemed somehowM
That she was far awayL
-
At last when we had all forgotN
That all is here to changeO
A shadow on the commonplaceP
Was for a moment strangeO
Yet there was nothing for surpriseQ
Nor much that need be toldR
Love with his gift of pain had givenS
More than one heart could holdR
